Independent research collaboration

Aurora-Lens × VALO Research

A bounded, non-exclusive research collaboration examining the boundary between governed evidence admission and execution authorisation.

Research question

What may enter governed state before anything becomes consequential?

How should an AI system determine which evidence objects, interpretations and communications may enter governed persistent state and become candidates for consequence?

Independent architectures

Developed independently. Connected at a defined boundary.

Aurora-Lens

Governed evidence admission

Aurora-Lens governs evidence admission, persistent PEF state, provenance, authority and freshness, contradiction preservation, unresolved references, text and voice communication admissibility, and lawful continuation.

VALO

Execution context and authorisation

VALO adds authenticated identity, mandate and delegation, execution context, consequence and operational state before REHT makes the separate final authorisation decision and Veritas preserves verifiable receipts.

Architectural relationship

Admission is not authorisation.

The collaboration defines a directional relationship without combining ownership or granting one architecture authority over the other.

EvidenceNative objects, claims and communications.
Aurora-LensGoverned evidence admission.
PEF statePersistent governed state.
Candidate admissibilityEligible for downstream consideration.
VALO contextIdentity, mandate, delegation and consequence.
REHTSeparate execution authorisation.
Enforcement + VeritasAction boundary and verifiable receipt.
Non-reversal invariant

Downstream systems cannot manufacture admissibility or authority.

Aurora NON_ADMIT is final downstream.

A rejected evidence object, interpretation or candidate communication cannot be admitted by VALO, REHT or an execution component.

Aurora ADMIT grants no execution authority.

Admission only creates a candidate for further consideration. REHT may still modify, defer, deny, step up or halt the resulting action or release.

Research programme

Phase 0 establishes a reproducible boundary.

Lossless native-object mappingPreserve source objects and semantics without flattening away provenance or unresolved structure.
Reproducible test baselineCreate fixed cases, expected outcomes and versioned evidence for independent repetition.
Ambiguity and contradiction evaluationTest whether disagreement and uncertainty remain visible rather than being silently resolved.
Lawful continuationStudy what a system may continue doing when evidence is incomplete, contested or restricted.
Text and voice admissibilityEvaluate candidate communications before they enter persistent state or are released.
Independent non-reversal proofDemonstrate that downstream components cannot reverse NON_ADMIT or convert ADMIT into execution authority.
Ownership and status

A research framework, not an acquisition or transfer.

OwnershipAurora-Lens remains independently owned by its creator. No acquisition, assignment or transfer is implied.
RelationshipThe architectural framework is non-exclusive and non-binding unless replaced by a separate signed agreement.
Current phasePhase 0 documentation has been prepared to preserve the existing architecture and establish an evaluation baseline.
Operational obligationMargaret Stokes has no current operational delivery obligation to VALO or REHT.
Commercial objectiveAcquisition remains Aurora-Lens’s primary commercial objective. This research collaboration does not alter that objective or represent an acquisition commitment by VALO.
